God has a dynamic purpose for your life by Pastor Ed Young

Take your Bibles and turn to the book of Romans. Romans chapter 8 verse 28. Now, I’m talking to people who don’t know Jesus Christ in a personal way because see, God tells you over and over and over in His Word that you matter to Him, that God has a dynamic purpose for your life, that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ as a sin sacrifice for your sins, for your iniquities. He rose again and He offers you a living Savior. A Living Lord. A Living Companion. A Living Friend. But God says in His Word, “I will get your attention through a crisis”. Now, let me stop right here and say this. God is not standing in heaven with a big crisis baseball bat and saying, “There’s someone outside the family of God. I’ll cause a crisis on you and now you’ll turn to me”. God does not necessarily cause crises. We bring most crisis on ourselves. In fact, the Bible says the evil one delights, he smiles, when we are in a crisis situation.

But look what the Bible says, directly to us. Romans 8:28, it says this, “And we know that God causes some things” Is that right? No. “We know that God causes all things”. And the word “things” in the Greek might not be good things or bad things, but the picture behind this word “things” is the word “harmony”. Boy, doesn’t Al Densen have an incredible voice? God has given him this gift.

I guarantee you get him and Russ Kidwell together and they could have great harmony. So the Bible says this, Romans 8:28, “and we know that all things work together”…that means God will harmonize everything, whether it be a crisis, a great time, and it will “work together for good to those who love God and to those who are called according to his purpose”.
